This cabin is themed around the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine which offers visitors a realistic look at coal mining as it was at the turn of the century. Visitors are able to travel 1500 feet beneath the hillsides of New River Park, in authentic "man cars" from the mine entrance into old working sections. Exhibits throughout explore the history of low-seam coal mining from the hand-loading days into the era of modern mechanization. In addition to the underground activity, you can tour the historical coal camp. This attraction is open April 1 through November 1st.
If you have ever wondered what life was like in an early 1900’s coal camp, a trip to Beckley’s Exhibition Coal Mine shouldn’t be missed. Coal is part of our area’s rich history and is also the them of this cabin rental.
This Exhibition Coal Mine, is located just 15 minutes from The Cabins at Pine Haven.
